| TRADITIONAL SOUTHERN GOSPEL In 1998 the Homesteaders Quartet was founded partly as a result of the tremendous success of the Gaither Homecoming series. Don Williamson, founder of the group, had shared the stage with Mr. Gaither in the past and was happy to see that the kind of music he loved to listen to and perform was once again becoming popular. A mixed trio was formed which quickly became
a quartet and it was an immediate success. The
Homesteaders has evolved into a full-time ministry which
now consists of Don Williamson and his wife Lisa, Darin
Hebert, bass, and the newest member Michael Helwig,
formerly of The Wilburns and The Stamps Quartet, singing
lead. The group has received numerous awards in
the Southern Gospel industry including a Dove Award
nomination and was voted Favorite Group of the
Year by the Four States Gospel Music Association in
2008. They have also been privileged to have several
chart topping songs in the Singing News and Gospel Music
News. If your desire is to have a program full of high energy four-part harmony singing, this is the program for you. While The Homesteaders always have a little fun along the way they will not fail to share the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ in a real and meaningful way. |
