Michael is
a native of Kitchener, Ontario. Although southern
gospel music does not have a large following in
Canada, he was blessed to grow up in a musical
family - his dad sang in several quartets as a
young man.
Michael joined his first group at age 19, and
spent the next six years singing with part-time
groups in and around Ontario, during which time
he was chosen Favorite Tenor by the Canadian
Gospel Music Association.
His opportunity to turn his love of music into a
full-time career came when he accepted a position
to sing lead vocals for beloved family group The
Wilburns. Upon their retirement several years
later, Michael joined the legendary Stamps
Quartet as baritone singer and was able to take
his talent throughout the United States and
around the world.
Michael now makes his home near Weleetka, OK with
wife Leslie, daughters Eva and Laura, and son
Samuel. |
