The Homesteaders
are perhaps the most talented and innovative group in Oklahoma.
During Oklahoma's centennial they provided the
entertainment for the Cast Iron Kettle Cookout which
received the Redbud Award by the Oklahoma Department of
Tourism as Oklahoma's number one agritourism attraction.
They also took their show on the road and provided
entertainment for some of the major celebrations all
across the state. Their unique style of music and comedy
has warmed the hearts of young and old alike as they
present their show with a western theme titled
"Happy Trails". The Homesteaders also have a
Gospel presentation. This program was responsible for
their being proclaimed "Oklahoma's Ambassadors of
Gospel Music" by members of the Oklahoma
legislature.
The group consists
of Donnie and Lisa Williamson who make their home in Weleetka,
OK, Darin Hebert, recently transplanted from Oak Grove, La.,
and the newest member Mike Helwig, originally from Kitchner,
Ontario, Canada. Most recently Mike was a long time
member of The Stamps Quartet which may be best remembered
as the backup group for the late Elvis Presley.
If you like the kind of family fun shows you
would find in Branson, Missouri and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.then
you won't want to miss an encounter with The
Homesteaders.
